Commission Information

I will be delighted to create a special painting for you, either of your beloved pet, a farm animal or wildlife. So, it may be a dog, a cat, a horse, a chicken, your prize bull or an animal in the wild. I work from good quality reference photographs provided by my clients.

Here is some information about how to start the commission procedure. It will hopefully answer most of your questions but if you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact me so that we can discuss your ideas in more detail.

Stage 1
Please have a look at the prices page and consider which size best suits your chosen animal.

Look through your photo collections and choose the best ones, the more the merrier. I specialise in photo realistic fine detail paintings so the reference images are crucial.

Here are some guides for photographs dos and don'ts to help you pick your best photographs.

Please also read the boring legal bits and make sure you are happy with my terms & conditions before ordering.

Stage 2
Let's chat! Please contact me and let me know what you have in mind.

You have a choice of chunky wooden board or wood board/panel. Over the years I've found that they give me an excellent smooth surface which is best for producing the fine detail I desire for my clients.

Chunky wooden board would have the sides painted with a single colour, chosen to compliment the subject, and is ready to hang.

Wood board/panel is more flexible for sizes but needs framing prior to hanging (framing is not included in the price).

Send me your high resolution jpeg images by email, on a CD or good quality photographs. It's recommended that you use Royal Mail Special Delivery when sending photographs.

Stage 3
Once you are satisfied with our discussion and would like to go ahead with the commission there will be a £400 non-refundable deposit required to book your painting on to my schedule. Commission is on first come first served basis and I will provide an estimated completion date to ensure that you are happy with the waiting time and would like to proceed.

Stage 4
When I am about to begin your commission I will contact you again to confirm the details and request the remaining balance (including shipping) which will be required to be paid in full prior to commencement of the work.

Stage 5
Work commences! I will keep you updated with work in progress photos.

Stage 6
When the painting is complete, a final image will be emailed for your approval. Once your are happy with the result I will make arrangements for your precious painting to be delivered.
